The Daily Word

Are you sat down as you are reading this, perhaps with a warm drink? Let me ask also, did you test the chair you are sitting on to make sure it would endure your weight? Did you check the contents of your drink to make sure you wouldn’t be poisoned? I don’t think so!!! We trusted, perhaps on the basis of experience, that these things would not harm us.
We use trust every day in a variety of circumstances but in every aspect of our lives. If we had to check everything before we used or ate it, we would be nervous wrecks before lunchtime! In fact , if we think about it, all our lives are built on trust, sometimes or perhaps mostly, based on previous experience.
So when we read the words in proverbs 3 v 5, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart”, that should come easily to us because our experience of Him encourages trust and if we trust an inanimate chair not to let us down, why should we baulk at the Almighty God. Yet so often, we try to do things ourselves and leave God out. Are you facing problems today or difficulties not caused by your own actions, then apply this verse to your own situation. Put your faith in Him to do what is right for you!
