  Finding Comfort in Psalm 6:1-4 Friends, Psalm 6:1-4 gives us permission to be completely honest with God when life feels overwhelming. David pleads, "Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath. Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint; heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony. My soul is in deep anguish. How long, Lord, how long? Turn, Lord, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love." This is the prayer of a soul in distress—physically weak, emotionally drained, spiritually exhausted. David doesn't hide his pain or pretend everything is fine. He brings it all to God, begging for mercy not because he deserves it, but because of God's unfailing love. In seasons of suffering—illness, grief, depression, or spiritual dryness—these verses remind us that God welcomes our honest cries.   Understanding the Times – A Word from Phil Gibson Before Breaking Bread – South Featherstone Gospel Hall, Phil started with a Good morning, everyone – where has the year gone? It feels like only yesterday we were together, and now here we are, racing toward another Christmas. Phil Gibson took us to 1 Chronicles 12:32 – the men of Issachar, the smallest group among thousands of mighty warriors, yet the verse singles them out because “they understood the times and knew what Israel should do.” Phil pointed out that all the other tribes brought shields, spears, bows – impressive gifts for battle. But the men of Issachar brought something rarer: discernment. They saw what God was doing in their generation and knew exactly how to respond.   Blessed with Every Spiritual Blessing – Ephesians 1:3–14 James Butterfield opened with a relatable question: "Do you ever feel blessed?" He noted how social media often celebrates #blessed moments like weddings or holidays – but is that what true blessing looks like? Turning to Ephesians 1:3–14 , James unpacked Paul's words from prison: "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ." Paul, writing in chains, lists these blessings: Chosen before creation to be holy (v4). Adopted as God's children through Jesus (v5). Redeemed by Christ's blood, forgiven (v7).
