The Daily Word

Are you insured? We all carry insurance for one thing or another, it would be illegal to not carry insurance for some activities. Among the most common insurance policies people hold is life insurance to cover funeral costs and sometimes to provide financial cover for families left behind. As we get older, it becomes more difficult or rather too expensive for life insurance, so we hope we have saved enough to cover at least a decent send-off!

The best insurance we can hold is eternal-life insurance! There are no premiums to pay, and the benefits start to be felt immediately we make that commitment to our Saviour. Even in the Old Testament, David wrote in praise to God in the book of Samuel, “You have also given me the shield of your salvation”. That is the shield, or insurance, we all need. Because if our human life and work is given to God and we know our sin has been dealt with by Jesus, then the most important decision of our lives has been taken, and we can all echo David’s words.
