Spiritual Warfare

We would never dream of sending a soldier into battle unarmed and unprepared — yet too often we step into each day spiritually defenceless against the dark forces that seek to discourage and destroy us. The enemy is real, cunning, and never underestimates us; he knows exactly which “demon” to send against each one of us — whether it be fear, shame, anxiety, depression, loneliness, or despair. Spiritual warfare is not a theory; it is the daily reality of the Christian life.

That is why we must be well armed. Just as a soldier equips himself with the best weapons available, we too must arm ourselves with the living and active Word of God. Scripture is our sword, our shield, and our sure defence. When shame whispers “You are worthless,” Romans 8:1 declares “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” When fear grips us, Isaiah 41:10 reminds us, “Fear not, for I am with you.” Every arrow the enemy fires has already been answered by the promises and truth of God’s Word.

Take time to know your Bible. Memorise it. Speak it out loud. Never go into the battle of the day unarmed.
