The Twelfth Day of Christmas

A Joyful Celebration of Christ's Revelation...

Dear Friends, while the world might think of the "Twelve Days of Christmas" as just a fun song about partridges and drummers, for Christians it's a rich season of celebrating the Incarnation—and the twelfth day, January 6th, is the grand finale: the Feast of Epiphany.

Epiphany (from the Greek for "manifestation" or "appearing") commemorates the moment Jesus was revealed to the Gentiles through the visit of the Magi—the wise men who followed the star to worship the newborn King, bringing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. This wasn't just a cute nativity scene addition; it was God's powerful declaration that Jesus is the Saviour for all nations, not just Israel. The Light of the world had come for everyone who would believe.

Many churches also remember Jesus' baptism (when the Father's voice declared, "This is my beloved Son") and His first miracle at Cana—both moments where Christ's glory shone forth. The twelve days from Christmas to Epiphany remind us that the wonder of God becoming man isn't meant to end on December 25th; it's meant to overflow into our lives all year.

In a season full of gifts, let's remember the greatest gift: salvation through faith in Jesus Christ alone as Lord and Saviour. No other way leads to God—He is the one true Light.

Point to Ponder: Epiphany celebrates that Jesus was manifested as Saviour for the whole world—including you and me.

Verse to Remember: "After Jesus was born in Bethlehem... Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, 'Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.'" — Matthew 2:1-2

Question to Consider: How can you let the light of Christ shine through you to someone who hasn't yet seen Him this year?
