The Daily Word

When Jesus was on earth, there are many records in the Gospels of the people he met. He probably met many more who haven’t been recorded there. There were many who were given joy when they were blessed by physical miracles, some even being raised from the dead. Even those who just witnessed the wonderful blessings that Jesus brought would doubtless go back to their homes and communities and recount the wonderful things they had seen and heard.

I would doubt that any single person, even those who opposed the work He was doing, that met or witnessed what Jesus did would ever forget His life, person and work.

Yet most, if not all, the miracles that He did that have been recorded were temporal, the people that were healed would eventually die. Yet there must have been some, in addition to the Disciples, who had the miracle of salvation from sin worked in their hearts. And when we come together around the Lord’s Table this morning, each one of us can worship and praise the Lord Jesus Christ because of the miracle of salvation that has been worked in our lives.

We may not have physically met Jesus or been there when Jesus was on earth, but that doesn’t matter, because Jesus said, “ I am come to seek and to save that which is lost”, and He has sought and saved us so we are able to remember Him again this morning and the price He paid to save us.
